Predicting All 32 NFL Team’s 2026-2027 Seasons

The 2027 NFL season starts today, and I could not be more excited. It feels like the night before Christmas, except it’s a random Wednesday in September. But who cares because tonight we get a Super Bowl rematch.

Over the past few weeks, I have been working on predicting the records for all 32 NFL teams. Please keep in mind I started writing this back when the preseason was just starting so there have been some injuries since and some predictions have changed already, and I’m sure before tonight’s kickoff, more things will change.

In this article I go through, division by division, laying out some of the things to look for in each division. And for each team in the division, I give something I am excited about for that team, and something I am not so excited about. Before I bore you any longer, let’s get into the records, starting with the NFC West.

NFC WEST

The NFC West is one of, if not the best division in the NFL. You’ve got the reigning Super Bowl Champions in the Seattle Seahawks who will be looking to run it back this year without their Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III. In addition to the reigning champs, you’ve also got the most explosive offense in the Los Angeles Rams. Who not only have one of the best offenses but also made a huge splash this offseason and added Myles Garrett. Following along not too far behind those teams are the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers still possess an absolutely dangerous roster, but the question always remains with them… Can they stay healthy? A healthy 49ers team can go toe to toe with any team in the NFL, but it seems they can never stay healthy. Last and least, you have the Arizona Cardinals. The Arizona Cardinals are no doubt going to be at the bottom of this division; however, they do have some things to look for this season and hopefully make some leaps from the previous year.

Seattle Seahawks (10-7)

Looking Forward To: Jadarian Price, the 1^st round RB taking to replace Kenneth Walker III. Price should get a decent amount of looks this season and I could see him being their RB1 by the middle of the season. I am also looking forward to seeing JSN dominate again. He has a breakout year last year, let’s see if he can keep that same production this year and help Seattle avoid the Super Bowl slump.

Not Looking Forward To: Super Bowl hangover. I think this team will regress slightly because of the it. I’m not looking forward to Sam Darnold and how defenses will adjust to his playstyle and potentially be able to slow him down. Sam Darnold is one of the lesser talented QBs to win a Super Bowl recently and I’m afraid he might get exposed this year with a larger target on their back.

Los Angeles Rams (12-5)

Looking Forward To: That Defense though. An already good defense added one of the greatest edge rushers of this generation. Myles Garrett and this defense will make for a lethal offense/defense combo. If this defense could create turnovers at a high rate, this team will be a force to be reckoned with.

Not Looking Forward To: An older Matthew Stafford. As the years go on, Stafford only gets older and injury risk rises with age. If Stafford can stay healthy, this team is a Super Bowl contender. Rookie Ty Simpson being their QB2 doesn’t excite me if Stafford has to miss a few weeks this year.

San Francisco 49ers (13-4)

Looking Forward To: A healthy defense. Last year the Niners defense was severely injured, Nick Bosa played 3 games, first round pick Mykel Williams missed 8 games, and Fred Warner also missed 11 games. This year, all 3 of those guys should be back by Week 1. Not to mention Dre Greenlaw coming back.

Not Looking Forward To: The eventual injuries…All around this team should be fun, the WR room isn’t bad, CMC looks amazing so far in camp, defense should be fresh. But we all know by Week 7, there is a high chance multiple All Pro caliber players might be out.

Arizona Cardinals (4-13)

Looking Forward To: Jeremiah Love, the top RB in the draft should have nothing but opportunity in this lackluster offense. Hopefully he can have a better year than Jeanty had last year with Vegas. The Cardinal’s offense should be a fun watch if they can find some average QB play, don’t be surprised to see Carson Beck get some chances throughout the season.

Not Looking Forward To: The whole defense…They didn’t add anyone notable on the defensive side and considering they were a bottom 5 defense last year. It doesn’t look too good, that offense will have to carry hard unless some defensive players take big leaps.

NFC NORTH

The NFC North is also one of the better divisions in the NFL. However, every team still has something to prove. The Vikings… Kyler Murray is on a prove it tour and this might be a match made in heaven. A mobile QB, with a top WR in Jettas, paired up with a top offensive mind in the game…don’t be surprised when K1 leads the Vikings to the top of their division. Speaking of leading divisions, the Chicago Bears. The Bears led the NFC North last year with Caleb Williams and they only look to get better this year. Lurther Burden III is in for a big role with the departure of DJ Moore, I’m expecting a breakout season for him. That leads me to the Packers, relatively the same team from last year. With Micah Parson being out until at least week 6, expect this team to have a better second half of the season compared to the first. Lastly, we have the Detroit Lions. The Lions look to make it back to the playoffs after missing last year but making it the two previous.

Minnesota Vikings (10-7)

Looking Forward To: Kyler Murray…He is primed for a comeback year. This is by far the best offense he has been a part of in his career, hopefully KOC can unlock his full potential and go on a deep playoff run. Justin Jefferson is also ready for a comeback year, last year he dealt with injuries and barely surpassed 1,000 yards. I think everyone is expecting him to put himself back to the top of the league.

Not Looking Forward To: There isn’t much I’m not looking forward to, the running back room isn’t looking amazing with Jordan Mason. Jordan Mason can provide some needed thump to the RB room, but Mason and Aaron Jones isn’t scaring anyone.

Chicago Bears (12-5)

Looking Forward To: Caleb Williams and Luther Burden connection. Rome Odunze has failed to become the certified #1 in that Bear’s offense, and Luther Burden III stepped up big time in the final weeks of last season. I’m excited to see how the Bears can utilize him throughout a whole season.

Not Looking Forward To: Honestly, I am excited to watch this team. Their defense causes turnovers and their offense is explosive. An aging D’Andre Swift isn’t very exciting. But he should be serviceable enough to provide a good punch when needed. And the occasional 50-yard run…

Green Bay Packers (12-5)

Looking Forward To: A healthy Micah Parsons…A healthy Packer’s defense should be pretty fun to watch. The addition of Javon Hargrave should help bring some attention from Parsons once he’s back. Also, a healthy Tucker Kraft should boost that receiving core.

Not Looking Forward To: The wide receiver room. Nobody has stepped up to fill the #1 WR role since the departure of Davante Adams. Maybe Christian Watson can stay healthy and become the number one target for Jordan Love.

Detroit Lions (11-6)

Looking Forward To: A full season of Jahmyr Gibbs not splitting reps. Jahmyr Gibbs is going to try and stamp his name as the undisputed best back in the league. He should be electric this year if he can stay healthy with a larger role.

Not Looking Forward To: Looking at their defense, it doesn’t look too promising. Losing Alez Anzalone, one of their defensive captains doesn’t help. I wouldn’t be surprised if this defense takes a step back. They won’t be bottom of the barrel but nothing to write home about.

NFC EAST

The middle child. The NFC always has some sort of drama going on…or maybe it’s just the fact that the Cowboys are in this division. The Cowboys somehow continue to let down their fanbase while touting one of the best offenses in the league year in and year out. This year, I expect no different, a lethal offense, a mediocre defense, and an early playoff exit. I do think their defense will be better this year with a full year of Quinnen Williams, and the addition of rookie Caleb Downs. Speaking of rookies, a team that is relying on two top 10 picks in the New York Giants has a big development year ahead of them. Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, and Abdul Carter all had bright spots in their rookie year, but can they make the jump in their second year and avoid the sophomore slump. This team will be fun to watch with Malik Nabers making his return, but can they translate that to winning. John Harbaugh hopes to bring a new culture to New York. The Philadelphia Eagles, the recent golden child of this division. Only two years removed from a Super Bowl win, the Eagles are in a tough position. With the loss of A.J. Brown, Jalen Hurts has his work cut out for him. Their offensive line only continues to age and the tush-push becoming decreasingly prominent each year, Jalen Hurts will have to adapt once again, with a new offensive coordinator. Only his 6^th coordinator in as many years… Lastly, we have the Commanders and the return of Jayden Daniels. Daniels who missed most of last year with multiple injuries, looks to prove everyone wrong and show why LSU should’ve retired the number 5. Sonny Styles, rookie LB out of Ohio State, will lead the Commander’s defense and hopefully not be bottom five like they were last year.

New York Giants (5-12)

Looking Forward To: A healthy offense. Jaxson Dart missed 5 games, Cam Skattebo missed 9, Malik Nabers missed 13. A healthy and new offense should excite all NFL fans. A young and hungry offense looking to make their mark on the league should bring some highlight plays week in and week out.

Not Looking Forward To: Their secondary looks scary. And not in a good way. Paulson Adebo being your number 1 corner… Good luck defending Devonta Smith, Terry McLaurin, Ceedee Lamb, and George Pickens twice a year.

Washington Commanders (6-11)

Looking Forward To: Jayden Daniels return and Sonny Styles debut. Jayden Daniels brings a totally different element when he is healthy. When you look at this team, its hard to believe that they made it to the NFC Championship just two years ago… but that’s what Jayden Daniels does to this team. Sonny Styles is one of the best linebackers to come out of the draft in a while, hopefully he can live up to the hype.

Not Looking Forward To: They have no real RBs. Bill Croskey-Merritt had some hype last year but really didn’t do anything. And only adding an aging Rachaad White, they will need lots of help from Jayden Daniels to be any sort of threat on the ground.

Looking Forward To: As a 49ers fan, I never look forward to anything that has to deal with the Eagles. That being said, seeing Devonta Smith be the number one receiver should be fun. He has big shoes to fill with A.J. Brown being gone, but I think he can do it and have a career year.

Not Looking Forward To: Looking at this team, there aren’t many holes. This is a well-rounded, super talented team. The only thing that can ruin this team is… you guessed it, Jalen Hurts. With A.J. Brown gone, I see this as a huge prove it year for Hurts. Can he be an efficient QB without his favorite target on the team.

Dallas Cowboys (13-4)

Looking Forward To: A full season of CeeDee Lamb and Pickens should be fun. CeeDee missed a few games last year and that’s when George Pickens really stood out. It should be fun to see how they play together for a full 17 games as top receivers in the league.

Not Looking Forward To: Their defense will be something to watch. I am not saying they will be bad, I actually think they will be good. But if I had to pick something that is their weakness, their defense is that choice. Specifically, that linebacker core might be a sore sight.

NFC SOUTH

The NFC South, by far the worst division in the NFC. Not they they are completely bad; they just aren’t great and have no standout teams. Even though all of these teams aren’t going to shock anyone, I am actually quite excited to watch most of these teams. The Saints will be going into the season with Tyler Shough as their full-time QB which could not be said last year when they were unsure and handed the reigns to Spencer Rattler. The Saints are hoping Shough can prove himself and be the QB of the future for New Orleans. Then you have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They had some offseason drama involving contract extensions talks with Baker Mayfield which turned a little sour. Baker will be looking to prove himself yet again to the Buccaneers and the rest of the league in hopes to get a massive contract in the offseason. Speaking of quarterback drama, the Atlanta Falcons cannot get it right. Michael Penix is two years removed from being drafted eighth overall and he has yet to play more than 10 games a season. Whether it be from injuries or sitting behind a veteran quarterback he has struggled to have a complete season. And that likely won’t change this year. Coming off an ACL tear and with the addition of Tua Tagovailoa, I don’t see Penix being the star quarterback they drafted back in 2024. And last but not least we have the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are probably going to be the most entertaining team for me in this division. Tetairoa McMillan entering his 2^nd year, Bryce Young seems to have found his footing and should have confidence entering this season, and a new look at linebacker with the additions of Devin Lloyd and Jaelan Phillips. Not saying this team will be amazing, but they should be fun and be improved from last year.

New Orleans Saints (6-11)

Looking Forward To: An explosive offense. Tyler Shough can sling it and if Jordyn Tyson and Olave can stay healthy, I expect some big plays week in and week out. Travis Etienne also will play a huge role, if they can get him going, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a top 12 offense.

Not Looking Forward To: I am not excited to watch their defense; they made no significant defensive additions while having a couple key players in Demario Davis and Alonte Taylor leaving. The Saints always seem to have a good defense but with an aging Cam Jordan, we will see his they can keep it up.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-11)

Looking Forward To: Baker and Egbuka year two connection. Year two of Emeka Egbuka and an upset Baker Mayfield. Hopefully we see Baker sling it all year long on a contract year, and Egbuka break out and be the leading receiver for a quarterback with top 5 passing yards.

Not Looking Forward To: I am looking at their defense, and it is ugly. Vita Vea has requested a trade and without him, I don’t see any proven defenders. Alex Azalone should be a steady force in the middle of the field and hopefully Ruben Bain Jr. can live up to the hype, but I wouldn’t be surprised at a bottom 10 defensive year.

Atlanta Falcons (6-11)

Looking Forward To: Honestly, not much to look forward to here. Obviously Bijan Robinson is going to be an exciting watch, especially with Tyler Allgier gone, Bijan should get more red zone opportunities. Outside of that, the QB play won’t be good and make for an inconsistent offense.

Not Looking Forward To: The QB play. I don’t know about you guys but, a left-handed QB room just sounds ugly, and it looks ugly too. Penix and Tua aren’t bad quarterbacks, but I feel they are QBs who will succeed in great situations, and Atlanta just isn’t that right now. They can surprise me and prove me wrong but, only time will tell.

Carolina Panthers (8-9)

Looking Forward To: A confident Bryce Young. He has had his ups and downs throughout his career but hopefully this year he can stay healthy and start every game. I think Tetairoa McMillan should be a safe target for Bryce Young and help him stay consistent week to week.

Not Looking Forward To: Over the offseason, they really didn’t address the offensive line position. So that is not a good look and will leave Byrce Young vulnerable. Hopefully it is something they can be just good enough to keep Bryce Young healthy.

AFC WEST

The AFC West is a very interesting division. You have the team that owned the 1^st overall pick, and also the most successful team over the past 10 years in the Chiefs. And the other teams, very competent and compete for playoff positions each year. Let’s start with the Chiefs. The Chiefs have shown that they can get it done no matter the roster, as long as Mahomes is manning the offense. And it looks like he is ready and prepped for Week 1, just 9 months removed from tearing his ACL in December. They didn’t make any huge offseason additions but expect Rashee Rice to have a major role once again and be Mahome’s favorite target while their defense got better through the draft. Speaking of the draft, the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders had a great offseason in my opinion. Bringing on one of the best Centers in the league in Tyler Linderbaum, as well as linebackers Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker. They also have a new coaching staff headed by new HC Klint Kubiak. Super excited to see Kirk Cousins and hopefully Fernando Mendoza kick this offense into gear. Let’s move onto the Denver Broncos. Coming off of a disappointing end to the 2026 campaign, stained by Bo Nix not suiting up for their AFC Championship game. They added WR Jaylen Waddle which should add a totally new angle to their offense. Before their WR room consisted of what seemed like only Courtland Sutton. Now they have a two headed monster in Waddle, who will bring the explosiveness and speed, and Sutton, who will be ol’ reliable and a safe target who can stretch the field. This is a big year for Bo Nix to prove he belongs in the upper echelon of QBs in the league. Lastly, we have the Los Angeles Chargers, the team that can never quite get over the hump. The Chargers have had a very good roster the past few years but just can’t seem to put it together. They brought Jim Harbaugh in last year to change the culture and now that he’s settled in, the expectations have risen. Maybe this year Herbert can put it together in the playoffs and make it out of the Wildcard Round.

Kansas City Chiefs (10-7)

Looking Forward To: I do not like the Chiefs after what they have done to the Niners over the years, but this year, I think they will have a slightly different identity. With Mahomes coming back and most likely needing some sort of ramp up, their defense might be the star of the show. I am excited to see rookie Mansoor Delane and the whole defensive unit step up and allow Mahomes to ease his way back.

Not Looking Forward To: Early Mahomes struggles. It seems Mahomes has had an incredible recovery from his ACL tear. But is he being rushed back too soon? I think there is a chance he comes back a little premature and struggles early on. Obviously, he is Mahomes and he will find his way back to elite QB play, but how long will it take.

Looking Forward To: The whole offense…almost. They bolstered the offensive line and in turn, this should boost Ashton Jeanty a lot. But not only the running game should improve, the pass protection should be a little better and hopefully give enough time for Kirk Cousins to find Brock Bowers and feed the best TE in the league.

Not Looking Forward To: The WR room. Like I said, almost the whole offense. Tre Tucker being your WR1 just isn’t good. Having a good running game will open up the pass game and the play action, but it would be nice to have someone a little better than Tucker as your main guy.

Looking Forward To: Jaylen Waddle. Waddle is a weapon that Nix hasn’t had yet, and I think it will change how Bo Nix is viewed. I expect a 1,000+ yard season for Waddle and to elevate back into the top 15 WRs.

Not Looking Forward To: The RB room. Their RB room consist of J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey, and Jonah Coleman. I think Coleman will creep into a clear RB2 role but it is quite an unstable RB room that if not healthy, will be a huge weak point for this offense. But it didn’t stop them last year so it shouldn’t hold them back too much.

Not Looking Forward To: Offensive line health. All pro center Tyler Biadasz was injured during join practices with the 49ers and is now on the IR. Rashawn Slater is also dealing with setbacks related to his surgically repaired knee. This could be the thing holding them back from getting over the hump if they can’t get healthy.

AFC NORTH

I think the AFC winner will come out of the North this year. The Cincinnati Bengals have one of the easiest schedules in the league. Combine that with a healthy Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and the newly added Dexter Lawrence, I think the Bengals are going to have one of the better records in the league. Onto the Steelers and the farewell tour for Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers are going into their first season without Mike Tomlin since 2006. I think the Steelers are a wildcard, they somehow always compete for the division, and I think they will be in the same position this year, but ultimately fall short like years past. Let’s move onto the Cleveland Brown and Deshaun Watson… Why did the Browns choose Watson as the Week 1 starter, I don’t know. But I do know that no matter who they chose to be their starter, they won’t be competing for a playoff spot. If Shedeur gets to start some games I will be tuning in, but outside of that, not too much to watch. KC Concepcion looks promising, but it will be up to Deshaun Watson to utilize him. That leaves us with the Baltimore Ravens and their new coach Jesse Minter. I am curious to see how Lamar Jackson is utilized with a new coach, I think he will be fine, but it is something to keep an eye on. I also hope they can get Ja’Kobi Lane involved.

Cincinnati Bengals (13-4)

Looking Forward To: An MVP Joe Burrow season. I think Joe Burrow comes out looking to take his team back to the Super Bowl and get himself an MVP. I think the stars have finally aligned for Burrow to stay healthy and feed Ja’Marr Chase all 17 games.

Not Looking Forward To: I am still not sold on their defense. I do think they got better over the offseason but they are still on the outside looking in for a top 15 defense. If they have a top 20 defense, they will be estatic.

AFC EAST

The AFC East is a very top heavy division. The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets are going to be bad watches just about every week. For the Dolphins, Malik Willis might have some exciting moments, but with no WRs to throw to, it will be rough. De’von Achane should be electric though. The Jets on the other hand have probably the lease exciting QB to watch in Geno Smith. Geno does have a couple WR to throw to but we all know how the Jets’ seasons typically go. I don’t expect much from anybody on that team. But who knows, maybe they’ll surprise some people and have a competent team. Now that leaves last year’s AFC Champions, and the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots make a splash at WR and brought in AJ Brown to give Drake Maye the best WR he’s had in his career. It will be fun to see Drake Maye play a little more free and let the ball fly even more. The Bills also made a little splash at WR in bringing in DJ Moore. Hopefully this will be the right fit for Josh Allen. A reliable target that can make some plays after the catch and open up this offense even more. There is going to be a fun battle to watch in the AFC East.

Miami Dolphins (0-17)

Looking Forward To: I am curious to see what Malik Willis can do when given the keys. He had some time behind Jordan Love and Matt LaFleur and when given the opportunity in Green Bay, he didn’t disappoint.

Not Looking Forward To: That secondary. I don’t think their defense is particularly good anyways, but their secondary will struggle a lot this year.

There isn’t much to look forward to but an athletic rookie, sign me up. David Bailey will also be fun to watch, hopefully he can get some other defensive help to take away some of the attention.

Not Looking Forward To: Geno Smith being a starting QB. I like Geno, but I don’t think this is the supporting cast that can help him succeed. He has weapons but there really isn’t an offensive line to help protect him or those weapons. But we’ll see what he can make of a not so good situation.

AFC SOUTH

The AFC South has a lot of potential. The Colts surprised everyone last year and were one of the better teams in the league until Daniel Jones got hurt. Now that Jones is back, they look to have a repeat of last year before the injury. They went all in last year with trading for Sauce Gardner, they need a big season to make last season’s acquisition pay off. You also have the Houston Texans, who I believe have the number 1 defense in the league. Will Anderson Jr, Azeez Al-Shaair, Derek Stingley, and others will scare opposing offenses. And DeMeco Ryans on the sidelines will be electric. You also have the young Tennessee Titans who have a new coach in Robert Saleh. Saleh will bring the energy to the defense, but let’s hope he can inject some energy into the offense as well. Maybe Cam Ward will have a bounce back sophomore season. Then we have the Jacksonville Jaguars. They shocked the world last year when they went 13-4. They lost Travis Eitienne in the offseason and they found no replacement. I think this might affect them more than they think.

Indianapolis Colts (7-10)

Looking Forward To: Year 2 Tyler Warren should be exciting. He had a great rookie campaign and hopefully Daniel Jones can stay healthy and feed Warren all year long. With the departure of Michael Pittman Jr. it should open up some targets.

Not Looking Forward To: The Colts are a very well rounded team. I think their defense can hold their own when healthy, same with their offense. So let’s hope they can stay healthy and be the same team last year before the Daniel Jones injury.

Not Looking Forward To: Offensive line struggles. If they can’t protect Cam Ward at least a little bit then we’ll just have to throw out our Carnell Tate expectations. They just need to do a good enough job to let Tate get open and give Ward enough space to let it fly.
